Accet Accreditation Press Release

May 7th, 2013

Micromeritics Instrument Corporation is proud to announce its national accreditation as a Post-Secondary Avocational/Professional Development Institution by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET), an accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education. Attendees of Micromeritics Learning Center courses can now earn nationally accredited Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for completion of instrument operator training. As a result of this prestigious recognition, Micromeritics Learning Center has relocated all of its educational information and training registration portal to www.micro.edu.

Quality

Micromeritics Instrument Corporation's dedication to quality continues to build on its foundation of ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems for designing, manufacturing, and servicing of analytical instruments since 1994 certification and providing cGMP compliant material science laboratory services since 2004.

Foundation

Since 1989, Micromeritics has been providing high quality instrument operator training courses to scientists, engineers, and technicians as an added benefit to using our technology. Today, courses offered include in-depth theory lectures by staff scientists as well as hands-on instrument operation with applications experts. Since mid-2011, Micromeritics began demonstrating the high quality nature of the training by conducting a rigorous self-examination process. The resulting self-examination report was submitted to ACCET, which then dispatched a team of nationally recognized education experts to evaluate the Norcross, Georgia training facility. All procedures, course materials, and documentation were reviewed and several strengths were noted in the team report. Based on the team's finding, ACCET's Accrediting Commission granted Micromeritics Instrument Corporation national accreditation.

ACCET Certificate

About ACCET

ACCET was founded in 1974 for the purpose of improving continuing education and training and has been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1978 as a "reliable authority" as to the quality of education and training provided by the institutions we accredit. In 1998, ACCET became the only recognized accrediting agency to be certified as an ISO 9001:2008-Quality Management System, under the international standards established by the International Organization for Standardization, and continues to hold that unique status.

Accreditation serves the interests of companies, agencies, and the public through the establishment of standards, policies, and procedures in conjunction with an objective third-party professional evaluation designed to identify and inspire sound education and training practices. When such a process is matched by an institution's commitment to high standards and accountability, a partnership for quality becomes reality.

ACCET Site

As A Partnership for Quality®, the ACCET accreditation process represents both an organizational commitment to and a strategic plan for quality training. This peer review evaluation process serves to keep programs current, relevant and educationally sound.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

ACCET accredited organizations are authorized to offer the Continuing Education Unit, which attests to a definitive and substantive evaluation of the administrative and instructional capabilities of a training institution.
